Explanation of the end cover structure of the servo planetary reducer

Publish Time: 2023-06-09 Origin: site

The end cover is a rear cover installed behind the casing of motors, WPEDA40-70,WPEDA50-80,WPEDA60-100,WPEDA70-120,WPEDA80-135 reducers, and other components. Its function is to support the rotor component. Through the fit relationship between the lip and the bearing, the rotor component is installed inside the stator component and works stably and reliably. At the same time, it requires a certain value for the air gap and axial gap between the stator and rotor. Therefore, the end cover of the servo planetary reducer is one of the key components to ensure the coaxiality, air gap uniformity, and axial clearance between the stator and rotor.

There are many types of end cover structures for servo planetary reducers, which will be explained below.

For a servo planetary reducer, there are front end covers and rear end covers. The front end cover refers to the end cover of the sleeve extension end, and the other end is the rear end cover. Due to the fact that there are quite a few types of motors that use the installation stop on the front end cover for positioning installation, there are many forms of front end cover, including disc shaped, bowl shaped, square shaped, prism shaped, triangle shaped, etc. Most rear end covers are disc shaped, and in DC motors, the commutator is often located at the non shaft extension end. A brush box needs to be installed inside the rear end cover, so a bowl shaped rear end cover is also commonly used.

The end cover structure varies significantly depending on the ventilation and protection forms of the motor. For motors that require cooling air circulation, the end cover is equipped with ventilation holes of various shapes, resembling flower baskets. Some motors require good sealing, so a closed end cover is required. The materials used for the end caps are also different, with more commonly used ones being cast aluminum alloy, steel plate, aluminum plate (stamping), as well as iron plate (low-carbon steel plate) stretched end caps, plastic pressed end caps, etc. Cast aluminum alloy or aluminum alloy profile end caps have the widest applicability, with light weight and moderate strength, making them suitable for various types of motors. For mass-produced automotive motors and some civilian motors (such as washing machine motors and blower motors), the use of steel or aluminum plate stamping end caps and iron plate (low-carbon steel plate) stretching end caps shortens the process, provides production efficiency, and reduces costs.
