Basic type characteristics of various noises of reducer


1. Electromagnetic noise


Frequency doubling noise: multiple of power frequency.

Tooth harmonic noise: noise caused by eccentric stator and rotor, improper slot matching, and unbalanced rotor.

Slip noise: caused by the poor fit between the wind blade and the shaft.


2. Air duct noise


Whistle noise: the rotation of the fan causes the periodic pulsation of the gas and the monotonic sound of the air flow colliding with solid objects, which is commonly referred to as the "whistle effect".

Eddy current noise: the eddy current sound generated by the surrounding gas when the fan blades of the reducer rotate, with a wide spectrum range.


3. Mechanical noise mainly includes bearing noise, friction sound generated by mechanical parts such as chamber sweeping.


Causes and treatment methods of common abnormal noise


When the stator rubs against the rotor, a harsh "click" sound will occur, which is caused by bearing failure. Treatment method: check the bearing and update the damaged one. If the bearing is not damaged and it is found that the bearing has an inner or outer ring, insert the sleeve or replace the bearing and end cap.


The motor is running in lack of phase, and the roar is particularly loud. One phase of switch and contactor contact is not connected. Treatment method: cut off power and switch on again to see if it can be started normally again. If it cannot be started, there may be an open circuit of one phase fuse.


When the bearing is seriously short of oil, the sound of "bone roll, bone roll" can be heard from the bearing chamber. Treatment: clean the bearing and add new oil.


The fan blade of the reducer touches the shell or there are sundries, making an impact sound. Treatment: correct the fan blade and remove the sundries around the fan blade.


When the guide bar of cage rotor is broken or the winding joint of wound rotor is disconnected, sometimes there is a "buzzing" sound of high and low, the speed slows down and the current increases. Handling method: check and handle the cage rotor guide bar or wound rotor winding joint.


The wiring at the head and end of the stator winding is wrong, there is a low roar, and the speed drops. Treatment method: correct the head and end wiring of stator winding.


The stator slot wedge is loose or broken, and a "hissing" sound can be heard. Treatment: replace the loose and broken stator slot wedge.
